Orientation

Notes

Key points

  • Math section: 2 modules × 22 questions, 35 minutes each — 44 questions, 70 minutes.
  • Adaptive: how you do in Module 1 sets an easier or harder Module 2.
  • About 25% are student-produced responses (grid-ins); the rest are 4-option multiple choice.
  • Desmos and the reference sheet are built into Bluebook, open on every question.
  • No penalty for wrong answers — never leave a question blank.
  • Algebra and Advanced Math ≈ 35% each; Data Analysis and Geometry/Trig ≈ 15% each.
  • Move freely within a module; once it ends, you can't go back.

Common traps

  • Grid-ins: no mixed numbers — 1121\tfrac{1}{2} goes in as 3/2 or 1.5.
  • Long decimals: fill every space (.6666 or .6667), not .67. No %, $ or commas.
  • Burning 4 minutes on one hard question while easy ones sit unanswered.

SAT tip

About 95 seconds per question: bank the easy ones fast, mark the hard ones, return with leftover time.
